On 5th April, 2018, HIFASS signed a project partnership agreement of the sum of ₦41, 413, 336.00 between the office of United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) with the goal of PB Emergency response. The new project Protection & Assistance to the Cameroonian Refugees is expected to last for 6 months starting from 1st April – 30th September 2018. Over the next few months, HIFASS will provide Public Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services to the 20,485 registered Cameroonian refugees in Benue (3, 517) and Cross River (16, 790) States and other new arrivals of Cameroonian refugees.
Two 4×4 vehicles has also been given to HIFASS to improve movements to reach Cameroonian refugees with assistance in Benue and Cross River states. In Cross River State, 16,790 refugees have been registered and are located in more than 20 villages.
